Here are two great features that are going to make your project management even easier - copy projects and copy tasks. Today, we’re all excited to tell you about how they have made life easier for project managers like you who constantly have to keep adding projects, setting team members and updating progress and dates.
We’ve made it easy for you to create projects that have similar or same team members and project managers as well as similar set of tasks. Let’s say you are a builder and are starting a new project for a 4 storeyed building. You already have created a similar project for the one you did in summer. Many of the tasks and team members and timelines are the same. Using our Copy project feature – just click Copy Project and you are taken to a screen where you can edit the new project details. Quickly edit those details and click Copy and hey Presto – there’s a shiny new project created in a jiffy with all the data. Now all you have to do is just edit and make changes to the ones you want.
So let’s look at how to use this feature
How to Copy Project
Let’s say you want to copy the Kruger National Park Resort design project and make a new one for Addo Elephant National Park. Let’s double click to open Kruger National Park Resort Project. Next click on the Copy Project shown highlighted below.
Here you can change the following metrics across all lists & segments that were included in your campaign:
- Project Code
- Estimated start and end date
Check the boxes on the Project and Task Modules below to select the information to copy.
- Project Module (Watchers and Project Info)
- Task Module (Watchers, task team, TO-do List and Sub tasks)
We showed you how you can copy dates and tasks and project teams using Copy Project. Now we’ve taken it a step further and built an awesome feature – if you change the project start date all other dependent dates for tasks will automatically get shifted based on the existing Project you are copying from. How cool can it get?
Press Save and here you go! you have a brand new project with all the details copied without you having to create them from scratch again. All you have to do is edit the 10 tasks also that got copied and just make changes where necessary. Isn’t it easy?
So whether you are in the construction business with projects having similar tasks or whether you are an software architect building the next module all you need to do to save time on repetitive project creation is to Copy Project – and then edit the details that need changing
Copy a project and check it out!
This feature is similar to the Copy Task feature that allows you to copy task within a project.
